A story about Auto Stop

My business partner Rodney Man started working for my Grandfather and father at the Mobil Robertson service station on the corner of Mains and Kessels Rd Robertson in 1976 age Fifteen as an apprentice motor mechanic.

I was aged around seven at that time and would often come and annoy them on Saturday mornings, school holidays and after school.

I started my apprenticeship under Rodney, my father and Grand father at the age of fifteen in 1983

Rodney and I worked together with my father and Grandfather in the service station until my father and grandfather sold the servo in 1990

I then started to look for a business to purchase and start on our own not long after that.

It wasn’t to long before I found Auto Stop for sale at Stones Corner that had been trading for a few years

We purchased the business and started trading there on the 7/12/90

In August 2009 we were then told that our lease would not be renewed and we would have to find a new premises after Nineteen years at the same spot.

On the 16/10/09 we found our new bigger and better premises at 45 Flanders st Salisbury.

Rodney and I pride ourselves on finding employees to work with us not for us and thus have a happy work environment

We select people with the same work ethic and pride in there job as we do and have stayed relatively small to keep our standards high

We send all our staff to what ever courses available (approx one every six weeks) to keep up to the highest standards with technology

We purchase multiple programs and diagnostic tooling so we can be the one stop car and light truck shop
